Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners

Report

The Board was established in 1980. Before 1980, doctors practicing homeopathy were regulated by either the Arizona Medical Board or the Board of Osteopathic Examiners. The Legislature should consider whether there is a need to continue the Board, and if continued, the Legislature and the Board need to address three regulatory issues that potentially limit the protection the Board provides to the public. In addition, the Board should investigate and adjudicate complaints in a timely manner and improve its licensing process.
