Several aspects of the Division’s oversight of the child protective services process were reviewed in this audit. For example, the review found that the Division is unable to investigate all reports of child abuse and neglect. The audit also covered the Division’s management tools such as its model to measure workload and determine staffing needs as well as its new management information system. Further, problems were identified regarding the Division’s oversight of group and shelter homes. Finally, the Division is finding it more difficult to place certain dependent children in foster homes.
