Yuma County School Superintendent - Conflict of Interest and Misuse of Public Monies

Our investigation revealed that from January 2001 to December 2001, Judeth Badgley, the Yuma County School Superintendent authorized contracts totaling $116,500 to a business in which she had a financial interest. Ms. Badgley allegedly violated state laws related to conflict of interest, procurement, misuse of public money, and filing a false document.  Our findings were submitted to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, and on April 16, 2003, the Maricopa County Superior Court issued a nine-count indictment against Ms. Badgley.
