Arizona Board of Fingerprinting (March 2007, Report No. 07-01)

The Board makes decisions on granting good cause exceptions to applicants who were denied a fingerprint clearance card by the Department of Public Safety. Although it has improved timeliness since the early 2000s, the Board still needs to make decisions in a more timely manner so applicants’ employment is not affected. It also needs to improve its case management as some decisions have been issued without its knowledge, as well as ensure that all of its decisions follow statutory criteria.
