Our investigation revealed that from August 1999 to August 2002, the former administrative services director and a former accountant allegedly embezzled at least $47,267 from the City of Sierra Vista by misusing the City’s travel expense process and credit card privileges. We submitted our findings to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, and on January 13, 2005, the Maricopa County Superior Court issued a two-count indictment including theft and fraudulent schemes against both individuals.
