Description

IT auditors primarily perform reviews of computer systems in the areas of general controls, application controls, and system security. IT Auditors also work cooperatively with the Office’s Financial, Performance, and School Audit divisions by acting as consultants and by assisting in the completion of audit assignments which involve IT systems. In addition, IT auditors assist in the performance of IT audits of State Agencies, Counties, Community Colleges, and Universities under the supervision of an experienced IT audit supervisor, based on an approved IT audit schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, computer information systems, or computer science from an accredited institution, or a master’s degree in any field and 1 year of related experience in audit

• At least 1 year of direct experience performing IT audits

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Availability for travel on a limited basis

• Ability to learn and adapt to changing environments and audit tools and techniques

• Excellent multitasking skills

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and auditee personnel

• Ability to plan, coordinate, and solve complex problems
