Auditor General
Debra K. Davenport, CPA, CGFM, CFE,
was appointed Auditor General effective October 12, 1999. Ms. Davenport is
responsible for carrying out all Office audit and consulting activities and
management responsibilities, as well as managing the Offices
day-to-day operations
and interacting with the Legislature, state officials, and community leaders.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Davenport served as
Arizonas Deputy Auditor General, held management positions in the Offices
Financial Audit and Accounting Services Divisions, and was the Special Assistant to the
Auditor General. She was also an audit manager with a national CPA firm. Ms. Davenport is
a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration (Accounting).
Ms. Davenport is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants, the
National State Auditors Association, the U.S. Comptroller General’s
Advisory Council on Government Auditing Standards, the Western
Intergovernmental Audit Forum, the Association of Government Accountants,
and the Professional Advisory Board of the School of Accountancy at
Arizona State University. She currently participates on committees for
many of these organizations, and throughout her career, has actively
served on committees for all of these organizations.
