Auditor General
William Thomson
was appointed
Deputy Auditor General effective October 23, 2000.
Mr. Thomson assists the Auditor General in managing the Office’s
day-to-day operations. His other responsibilities include strategic
planning, internal communications, and the development and implementation
of new functions assigned the Office by the Legislature.
Mr. Thomson previously served as director of the
Performance Audit Division from 1982 until his appointment. Prior to
joining the Office in 1978, Mr. Thomson worked in performance auditing for
the Utah Legislative Auditor General. Mr. Thomson has a Master’s Degree
in Public Administration (MPA) from Brigham Young University and a
Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement, also from Brigham Young
University.
